Advocate

Ensure you and your friends are represented in the bicycle travel community

Advise

Help guide new programming at Adventure Cycling through your experience as a cyclist

We are currently recruiting for the Adventure Council in the Rocky Mountain region. It’s a one-year commitment, and the Council meets remotely bi-monthly. The Council provides feedback and advises Adventure Cycling on restructuring its programming to be more inclusive. If inclusion and accessibility in the cycling community sound like something you’re passionate about, take our survey! No bike travel experience is needed.

You can spot Eli riding any off-road/gravel path, commuting by bike, spending time walking and hiking with their dog, and at gravel events across the country.
Erin

Erin

Howdy! I’m Erin, a queer midwesterner currently living in Colorado and working for a copper mine. I was raised around bikes and originally found love for their mechanical components, but didn’t find my true passion for them until I rode a bike cross-country at 19. My first supported bike trip sparked a love for the outdoors and I began pursing ways to make those spaces accessible to me despite my neurodivergent related feeding/eating differences. Regardless of not having an outdoorsy upbringing or athletic background I have found my most authentic self in these spaces whether it’s riding bikes, bouldering, taking my pup hiking, or most recently at roller derby practice. I enjoy embracing the jack of all trades, master of none way of life. Besides finding joy in movement, I enjoy learning new crafting skills or catching up with friends about their latest endeavors. I often joke that my sewing machine is the only thing that can keep up with the speed at which my brain moves!
Gabriela

Gabriela

Seqër! I am an indigenous Mayan Guatemalan woman, I love the opportunity to bring diversity, equity and inclusivity into the biking world. As a BIPOC person who loves spending time in the outdoors, this year I’m excited to try more bikes, fat tire, road, gravel and bike packing. I love to build community and inspire people, to enjoy the benefits of the outdoors and finding their own community to go and have fun afuera! Maltyox X 3 =Gracias.
Genevieve

Genevieve

Genevieve is a travel enthusiast, aspiring birder, and registered nurse originally from a small town in southwestern New Mexico. As a current resident of Tucson, AZ, she has bikepacked in the Gila Wilderness, Arizona, and Mexico. When not working in the hospital or on her bike, you can find her seeking wild water in the Sonoran desert, reading a book with a cup of coffee, or enjoying live music.
Joanna

Joanna

Joanna was born and raised in New York City and re-learned how to ride a bicycle at age 28 – proof that you can forget how to ride a bike! She made her way out to the northwest via Boulder, Colorado, where she fell in love with road biking and hill climbs. This led to a deeper overall appreciation of outdoor adventures, and in 2020 she moved to Missoula, Montana. Joanna’s favorite things about biking are the increased connection to her surroundings and the thrill of getting places near and far through the power of her own body and mind. When she’s not working for RMI (a nonprofit clean energy think tank), you can find her cooking, baking, running, and getting out for bike rides with her family throughout the Pacific Northwest as much as she can.
Jordyn

Jordyn

Growing up in central Montana the love of the great outdoors was instilled at a young age. The wide-open skies and endless trails, roads, and public lands to explore with a beaming smile on my face is where I first found my love for adventuring, especially via bike. I graduated in Forestry and GIS from UM in Missoula MT, and have been working in remote wilderness areas and for various land management agencies and non-profit organizations in my early career. The richness recreating outside brings to my life has been fuel to my fire as an avid hunter, angler, and outdoors women. I have found a dedication to preserving our wild public lands both professionally and in my personal life and am always looking to surrounded myself with a great community focused on inclusion and making recreation a happy and healthy experience, for all.
